NEW YORK – Bonnie Barczykowski, CEO of Girl Scouts USA, will speak at Newsweek’s inaugural Women’s Global Impact Forum on August 5 in New York City. The event will bring together senior female leaders from various sectors to address workplace equity, the gender pay gap, and women’s evolving role in leadership.
Girl Scouts of the USA, founded in 1912 is the nation’s leading leadership-development organization for girls, with more than 3.2 million members. The organization focuses on building courage, confidence, and character through initiatives in STEM, entrepreneurship, environmental stewardship, and community service.
In response to a 2021 study revealing that nearly 70% of girls experience loneliness, Girl Scouts launched the Mental Health Initiative, partnering with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and HCA Healthcare. This initiative includes mental health-related patch programs designed to encourage open conversations and provide resources for scouts and troop leaders.
Barczykowski said she wants girls worldwide to know their worth, trust their potential, and make their dreams a reality. For everyone else, her advice is to invest in girls.
