U.S. President Donald Trump’s organization has announced the launch of a new wireless service branded as Trump Mobile, aimed at what the company calls “real Americans” looking for better mobile value.
Donald Trump Jr., executive vice president of the Trump Organization, introduced the service during a press event in New York City alongside his brother, Eric Trump. Both sons oversee the Trump family’s business interests.
According to the official website, Trump Mobile plans will start at $47.45 per month, a nod to Trump’s tenure as both the 45th and 47th president of the United States. The plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data.
The service allows users to retain their existing smartphones and phone numbers, though the Trump Organization also plans to debut a $499 gold-colored smartphone, called the T1, later this year.
Competing services such as Boost Mobile and Verizon’s Visible currently offer similar unlimited plans starting at $25 per month, while T-Mobile and Spectrum offer plans beginning at $30.
Trump Mobile joins a crowded MVNO market, positioning itself with patriotic branding and pricing tied to the former president’s political legacy.
